Sapphire crystal is synthetically grown – the same material as natural sapphire gemstones. It scores 9 on the Mohs hardness scale (just below diamond), making it virtually scratch-proof in daily wear. The clarity is exceptional, and it maintains its pristine appearance for years. The downside? It’s more expensive to produce, and while highly scratch-resistant, it can chip or shatter on hard impact.
